Now this is getting mean, Charles. Suppose I discovered, hypothetically, that you liked oral sex, and I asked the same questions? You'd say, it's a mistake to even put cocksucking or clitlicking in the same universe. You are making a similar mistake.

I will, however, give you my own personal answers.

1) The incest tabu is strong, but what's wrong with the kind of incest that most people think about is not that it involves sex within closely related family members, but that it involves non-consensual abuse of small children. Really what's wrong with that sort of incest is not that it's incest but that it's child abuse. Here the consent element is central again.

By contrast, if two grown adults, say at least 21 years of age, who are brother and sister or mother and son, or for that matter any other combination of genders, agree to have any kind of sex, I don't see that anyone else has grounds to object.

I wouldn't do it, but there are lots of sexual things I wouldn't do -- without, however, condemning the people do them. I would not, for example, engage in sex play with excreta; the thought repels me. But if some people want to do it, I don't think they're bad, I just think they want to do something I wouldn't do, and I'm happy they found someone who will voluntarily do it with them.

2.) Bestiality -- an ancient rural tradition, and one that Kinsey found had an amazingly high incidence -- doesn't strike me as morally wrong. The animals can't consent, of course, but if we can kill them and eat them or wear their skins, we can have sex with them as long as it's not hurtful. (There's always a greater risk, of course, that you'll hurt something that can't talk, but as far as I can tell animals make it pretty clear when when they are in discomfort or pain.) Bestiality isn't something that appeals to me and I wouldn't do it myself, but I don't think it is evil, sick, or wrong.

Now, ball's in your court. If you disagree, explain.
