*** The US regime has launched air strikes in the African state of Somalia, killing a large number of people in a small impoverished village, mainly Muslims, many of them women and children, claiming that "al-Qaeda" suspects were thought to be in the area. Somalia's corrupt regime collaborates with the US regime, and the targets of these attacks are ordinary citizens who oppose Abdullahi Yusuf and are campaigning for a new government that will represent ordinary working-class people. Abdullahi Yusuf describes the victims as "suspects"; in other words these people were massacred indiscriminately by aerial bombardment, not put on trial and not found guilty of any crime. A spokesman for the Somali regime boasted: "So many dead people were lying in the area. We do not know who is who, but the raid was a success." They do not know who is who among the victims of the massacre, and clearly they do not care either. Abdullahi Yusuf is an unelected dictator in a corrupt regime in a failed state but, as an ally of the US regime, instead he is officially referred to as the "interim President". ***

US Somali air strikes 'kill many'

The US has carried out at least two air strikes in southern Somalia against Islamist fighters, who the US believes include members of an al-Qaeda cell.

The targets were reported to have been tracked by aerial reconnaissance and then attacked by a US gunship launched from a US military base in Djibouti. ...
