I could speculate as to the reason, but instead, let me simply note that it works for the armed forces, among others.
All I'm trying to say, Brian, is that bdsm is like playing with fire. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. In fact, I could argue that's a point in its favor. I'm looking forward to getting a copy of _Fifty Dangerous Things You Should Encourage Your Child To Do_ and giving it to my daughter.
