Andie:

True, anything can be an erogenous zone. However, my experience and reading suggests that a very high proportion of women needs more or less extensive clitoral stimulation to achieve orgasm -- especially mind-blowing, clear-the-circuits orgasm.

[WS:] You are changing the subject. We are not discussing the likelihood of mind blowing orgasm (on which subject you are right,) but the likelihood of reproductive success - which is the only thing that matters from the evolutionary point of view. As CB correctly pointed out, what matters from that point of view is the *likelihood* of an intercourse - not how pleasurable the experience of it. An almost by definition, that likelihood depends on what happens BEFORE the intercourse, rather than DURING it.

By this logic, it is either the female who decides when to have an intercourse and with whom or the male compels the female to have one. In neither case, however, the actual experience of the intercourse enhances either the likelihood of it occurring, or the likelihood of fertilization. It is possible to imagine a society in which men routinely rape non-pregnant women - such society would have a very high fertility rate yet a horrible (for women) intercourse experience.
