BANGALORE (Reuters) - Consulting firm Accenture Ltd. plans to raise its staff numbers in India to 35,000 by August, overtaking the United States as its biggest employment hub, Chief Executive William Green said on Monday.
"Quite simply, India is a key country for Accenture over all, a critical element in our global delivery network in particular and integral to Accenture's growth strategy," he said in a statement.
The company currently employs 27,000 people in India, spread across six cities -- Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai. It has 30,000 employees in the United States.
