I don't think a whole lot of RUSSIAN 14-year-olds associate the hammer-and-sickle with the Soviet Union. A lot of them will tell you Lenin was a poet like Pushkin. I saw one teenage girl in Yaroslavl tell another that the statue of Karl Marx was of Tolstoy ('cuz they both have beards).
