Speaking of such writers being socialists, I was listening to this one interview with Wire creator david simon, and he said "y'know, the message I'm conveying, some people attack it as being 'class war' or 'socialism', and my response is... hell yeah it absoltuely is! We DO need to soak the rich in this country! I say that, and keep in mind, since going to HBO, I'M rich!"
