What atheists have power in the U.S.? Pete Stark is the only self- proclaimed athetist member of Congress. The president is an apocalyptic Christian nut. He was sworn into office on a bible. Our money declares our trust in god. And fewer Americans would vote for an atheist for president than a queer:

Between now and the 2008 political conventions, there will be discussion about the qualifications of presidential candidates -- their education, age, religion, race, and so on.
