Jul. 8 - Commandos raid mosque compound as Pakistan's president delivers an ultimatum to militants holed up inside.
The military says the commander of the unit that mounted the attack on the mosque compound was killed but officials are rejecting suggestions by the cleric leading the Red Mosque's Taliban-style movement that 300 of his followers also perished in fighting overnight.
