Got into Tsaritsyn/Stalingrad/Volgograd yesterday and
spent last evening walking around downtown and
stopping in cafes. Boy does this city have a lot of
war monuments. The first thing I noticed at the train
station is that the local government has an "I
Remember, I'm Proud" campaign going. You're supposed
to attach a ribbon to your car, purse or whatever to
show you remember the Battle.

Another thing this city seems to have in abundance in
an incredible amount of clothing stores. I've never
seen anything like it. The economic boom seems to have
really hit Volgograd. Good for you, Stalingraders, if
anybody deserves it, it's you!
