Wojtek's right. After watching one too many atrocities on the TV news,
polite leftie-liberal Brit academics no doubt feel a tad uncomfortable
entertaining the slightly gauche offspring of Britain's disastrous colonial
Jewish experiment on the academic cocktail circuit. It's a cheap and
meaningless feelgood gesture. If only these people occasionally had the
backbone to stand up to their own ruling elite. Where were they when British
squaddies and the SAS were rampaging in Ireland?

to pompous bullshit aimed to construct the speaker's credentials
