[lbo-talk] Putin's Russia

I expect a good show when Putin visits W. Putin is hard as nails and holds a lot of strong cards (energy). Putin is in no mood to compromise with the US - why should he? Putin will leave office as an almost a God-like figure among Russians. He will visit probably the most hated living human being in history. Prediction: Putin will turn the tables and lecture Bush and the US a bit. After which is popularity at home will spike in the 90%s!

Agreed Chris, Putin has run his course. He is exhausted. Next will be in a more retiring position (Gazprom?) where he will continue to direct the "vision thing."

Putin looks EXHAUSTED. I think he's going to take a long break.
