I'm afraid that in part is the case. While there's no question that enrollment really went down, some members of the Board and the Chancellor of Antioch College, from what I have heard, have a history of opposing tenure and looking only at the bottom line. So, the idea may be to close down the liberal arts college with tenured professors for good (despite the possibility of re-opening mentioned in the press release) and to focus on adult and vocational education, the money-making part of the enterprise, offering faculty contracts with no tenure. But I have not heard all the facts of the case, so I'll post again if I learn more about the problem. -- Yoshie
