Sporting events are also awesome times to get together with friends and debate things totally unrelated to the game at hand, fwiw. It's way easier to connect with people across class boundaries when you've got this event mediating the whole thing, rather than just busting out the politics that most people find boring as shit for all the right reasons, namely that they can't tell the difference between candidates in either party, that they're crooks, etc.

also: phils won 6-3 last night. it was great.
