PARIS, March 2 (Xinhua) -- French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy declared here on Friday that the six powers are "completely in agreement on the framework for a new UN Security Council resolution on Iran's nuclear issue."
The six powers, namely Russia, France, Britain, China, Germany, Russia and the United States, "have completely agreed on the framework for the next step of the Security Council" during a high level telephone conference on Thursday, Douste-Blazy said at a press conference.
They acknowledged the fact that, in accordance with the resolution 1737," they agreed, from now on, to put forward a new resolution under the article 41 of chapter VII in the Charter of United Nations," the French foreign minister said.
Under the framework of this article, the Security Council would take all necessary measures, excluding military ones, in order to enforce the resolutions.
Douste-Blazy added that they also talked about the possible content in the next resolution, underlining that "it should reflect on the spirit of resolution 1737."
