[lbo-talk] Dave Ramsey, Suze Orman, etc.

In another forum, I've been following a discussion of these personal finance
gurus.  It seems to me, that part of their function is to tell people that if
they have financial problems it's because they are stupid, wasteful people who
must seek redemption through austerity.  Do people agree with this assessment,
and has anyone fleshed out this critique?
