What is fascinating (and not in a good way) about this piece is that
while David Brooks declares the death of neoliberalism as practiced by
The New Republic and The Washington Monthly, he does not once explain
that the "angry" blogger Kevin Drum has his blog on the main web page
for the Washington Monthly. That journal today is not much like its
1981 incarnation.
