In the real world, stores play all sorts of roles. Bookstores offer social and escapist spaces. Etc.
In reponse to a common, thoughtful objection, I mentioned one way that people avoid a similar class of objections in the real world. But of course I'm drawing an analogy, rather than anything more concrete. No crystal ball, I'm afraid.
