The European technophiles and climate change deniers (James H, are you there?) may pooh-pooh the consequences of such change for the industrialized North, but for the less industrialized South is an altogether different issue.
BTW, if the North-South distinction has any validity at all, it is in the are of climate change. The South as a whole will pay a much heavier price for that.
