Perhaps, even more importantly, who actually organized the largest nationwide strikes and rallies in recent history: immigrant workers and those who serve them (workers centers, unions large portions of whose members are immigrants or Latinos, churches and other religious organizations, ethnic organizations, ethno-cultural media, and so on).

Immigrant workers also are the human links between the North and the South. It is significant that rallies in solidarity with them took place south of the border as well. -- Yoshie
