BEIJING, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu and Israeli counterpart Shaul Mofaz, meeting in Beijing on Friday, vowed to strengthen bilateral ties.
Hui said relations had developed rapidly since the establishment of diplomatic ties 15 years ago. The two countries carried out fruitful exchanges and cooperation, including frequent political exchanges and expanding trade relations.
He said further bilateral cooperation was in the interests of both countries and peoples, as well as the peace and development of the Middle East.
China would work with Israel to continuously develop ties, Hui said.
Mofaz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transportation, echoed Hui as saying that Israel was also willing to strengthen cooperation with China.
Mofaz is visiting China at the invitation of the Ministry of Railways.
