[lbo-talk] Tehran, the Art Capital of the Middle East

Not sure that Tehran has usurped Beirut's place as the
"Paris of the Middle East." A week or so ago I sort of
randomly forwarded news about a Beirut art gallery
opening that featured erotic female nudes, some shown
masturbating, etc. Fashion shows are also regularly
held there. And no, not everyone's in
hijab/chador/burqa at those.

It's great to see artistic flowering anywhere. But
calling Tehran the "art capital of the Middle East"
seems optimistic.

Just Google "Paris of the Middle East" - tons of
cultural and artistic activities come up re: Beirut.

And it's just one among many reasons that Israel's
bombing of the city is a major crime.
