[lbo-talk] A public square

I think we should all take a cue from my little sister, who quit her accounting job today after seeing the company jerk other employees around and finally her. She has no college education, but this week had a salary higher than anything I've ever seen. The small company she worked for fired a bunch of people last week and "promoted" her from doing accounting to being an office manager with a salary of over $40k.

The company will probably lose a bunch of clients, as the remaining managers don't know how to do the actual work.

Her situation at the company was pretty good until a month ago, when they hired some guy with a few degrees. He was more interested in what college she attended than in her actual capabilities. I'm sure there was a bunch of sexism at work too with this new guy.

My sister tells me that the remaining employee are pretty miserable, but are a bit inspired that she told them to fuck off before quitting.

This is just more confirmation of my take on American workers, that they are trained to be conservative at work and not take risks.
