Italy certainly behaved in a very racist fashion towards Ethiopia although it wasn't really any worse than the attitudes or behaviors of the French, English, US etc. at the time.
As far as anti-semitism goes, Italian fascism was largely free of it. In fact, the blackshirts had Jewish members.
