Yeah, sure, Chris, being killed is generally worse than merely being repressed. But Brian's point is that being repressed is pretty bad. You don't want to have been dead when you die.
Human rights talk can be warped and abused for bad purposes. What sort of talk can't be? Stalin and Mao killed tens of millions in the name of socialism. Does that mean we shouldn't talk about socialism, as many people think?
