I wish our Congress would pass a resolution condemning our genocide of the Indians. It's a body that played no small role in it, too. But we love to get on our moral high horse about other people's crimes. Why is there a Holocaust museum in DC and no slavery museum? Why is there a memorial to the Warsaw Ghetto in Riverside Park about 1/4 mile from where I sit and nothing about the slave trade in lower Manhattan? New York had lots of slaves and was very slow to free them. Etc.
