^^^^^^^ CB: What pops into my mind is that this is an expected result of the principle of no political tests for art or artists. Artistic license is an expression of ultimate ,bourgeois ,individualist freedom, so why wouldn't some right wingers be artists and some artists be right wingers ?
As to artists who actually become politicians, Hitler, Ronald Reagan. Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson. I can't think of any artists who were progressive heads of state. John Wilkes Booth was a political "activist" of sorts.
