Conan O'Brien had one of the better jokes about this I've seen. Paraphrase: "Starbucks just opened a shop in Russia. After buying a few cups of coffee at $8 apiece the Russians decided to chuck capitalism and go back to communism." (9/10/07 show, opening monologue)
