In some ways, that's why Bloomberg troubles me more than Rudella. He's a very smart, efficient, mean, corporate manager type, he's played his cards very astutely, he's gotten power over institutions (like the schools) that Rudy couldn't achieve, or didn't care to, and he's just as committed to police thuggery and repression, in practice, as Queen Rudy ever was.

This will probably seem like a "perverse" attitude to you, but: given that government is going to be repressive and semi-fascist if not rather more than semi-, would you prefer it to be efficient or inefficient?
