I dated an Objectivist in NYC, in the mid-80s. She was hot, but narrow in 
her concepts, and we'd have ongoing arguments about capitalism, socialism, 
rightist libertarianism, and usually this served as foreplay. She never 
called me Howard Roark in the heat of passion, but to be fair, I never 
confused her for Dominique Francon. And I blame Ayn Rand's stilted narrative 
for that.

One of my fave anti-Rand quotes came from Gore Vidal who, when reviewing one 
of her books in the late-50s, said that Rand made well-poisoning one of the 
kindlier arts.
