Yesterday, Second Life saw famed fashion designer Giorgo Armani open a virtual shop modeled after the designer's flagship retail location in Milan. Additionally, Stardoll announced that DKNY and Sephora were the first real-world brands to sell their virtual wares in Stardoll’s virtual shopping galleria – the “starplaza.” Stardoll’s more than 10.5 million registered users will be able to buy DKNY fashions and Sephora makeup using the "Stardollars" virtual currency—with couture and color updates that correspond to the changing seasons and, similar to a real life shopping experience, each shop will have a unique look and feel that is consistent with each brand.
