A nice metaphor for the global village - we're all interlinked and
interconnected, and 19th century nationalism and 20th century militarism
will lead only to madness and horror. This is going to be one of the key
political issues facing the rising semi-peripheries of the world, as they
build out their developmental states -- how to create multiethnic,
multiconfessional and pluricultural societies, with economic equity and
social justice for all.
