Factor? OK, in that there may be an association, for prediction purposes, but other than that, what is its importance? Religious doctrines and the attitudes of religious adherents themselves need explaining. Catholicism is not an explanation of anti-abortion or anti-birth control attitudes. Membership in a Baptist church is not an explanation of opposition to gay marriage (leaving aside whether there's even an association there). Neither is a rural background (from an earlier Prop 8 round) an explanation.

I don't expect so, although in the U.S. I believe male support increased after legalization. A Polish feminist petition I have from 2006 says a majority of both men and women support abortion, but has no figures. Chris said Poles weren't jumping to make abortion legal, but evidence to the contrary is that women 'jumped' to actually get abortions. Polish women still get between 80,000 and 200,000 a year, despite the legal obstacles. Catholic abortions.
