Still, you would have to admit that white assimilated Jews have made a greater contribution to social liberation than most. Marx, Trotsky, Luxemburg, for starters... let's face it, a substantial proportion of the leadership of the early socialist and communist movement were assimilated Jews.
Are white people in general reactionary? No. the European labour movement has been in the vanguard of social change for more than a century.
And what about the black contribution to social liberation? Outside of South Africa, it has not been that remarkable. There is CLR James and Fanz Fanon, and then what? Angela Davis (the Jim Jones groupie, who told the Czech dissidents that they deserved to be in jail), Elijah Mohammed? Michael X?
And then there's Leo Strauss. What is his crime? His book on Machiavelli is a bit arcane, but it is not wicked. In fact as far as I can see, his philosophical studies have very little obvious political application, anyway. So he wasn't radical. It is not a crime. He wanted to look at the sources. Good. It is a refreshing change to see a scholar who does not substitute his own ranting political attitudes (all culled from the last half hour, and ready to be jettisoned in the next) for an actual enquiry into events.
Was he short as well as Jewish? Well, why not just chuck him in the gas chamber now, Chuck?
