[lbo-talk] The Liberal Morality: Shutm on Atrocities

I'm glad that when it comes to the issue of hundreds of Palestinians being annihilated by American made F-16 fighter jets and Apache helicopters that there's a sense, even amongst the most sophisticated critics of meta-ethics, of moral outrage.

As far as any protest movement is concerned, the obvious obstacle is that the least irrelevant of the barely still existing anti-war groups have ambiguous positions when it comes to Israel/Palestine. In my ivy-smothered university town, the pacifist Coalition for Peace Action suddenly disappears behind clouds of platitudes when one shifts the focus from Baghdad to Gaza. "Reasonable people can disagree" is a soothing refrain.
