That sounds nice, but it's pretty meaningless in the U.S. Were you speaking of another country? And what of those who willingly choose such endeavors? The issue you grope around without naming is force, not a particular activity (however acceptable or repulsive you may personally find it). No one should be forced to sell sexual services, but the willing sale of such services is a personal choice. Is anyone forcing you or anyone you know to work in a brothel or on a street corner, in this country? In another country?
@ Chuck, who said: "There is one local chain that isn't an option: Sutherlands. I'm not going to buy lumber from a bunch of right-wingers."
Lumber is sold by the boardfoot, not by political affiliation. Would you purposely drive twice as far to purchase an inferior product? And for what, to appease your personal boycott? What if everyone did that: Think of the carbon impact!
@ Bill, who said: "Yes, its different, doesn't mean we can't draw a parallel."
Sure, you can draw that parallel. Never mind that it is flip and irrelevant or that by making that comparison, you sound like a stooge with a trivial, mistaken analysis. But hey, if that's how you wish to be perceived, it's your call.
