You are too kind! These long pre-emptions for fundraising are very frustrating. WBAI is doing 25 days of it this month, which may be record for a scheduled marathon - others have been extended to that length when they didn't make their goal. The daily fundraising goal works out to $32,000; so far, it's coming in at around $31,000. That daily goal is well below past targets, and even past performance: the winter 2006 fundraiser pulled in around $35,000/day, and winter 2007, around $34,000. Merely keeping up with inflation, we should be getting around $37,000/day to match the 2006 haul. And fulfillment of pledges has eroded - it's now below 80%. KPFA pulls in close to $50,000/day. Bottom line: WBAI is in bad shape, folks.
