[lbo-talk] Barney Frank, capitalist

I had to look up Karl Kautsky.

Very gracious of you to respond, Max. I suppose that one point that annoys about his argument is that from my understanding the origins of the de-regulation he criticizes are in the Carter administration. So I see it like (excuse the clumsy metaphor) blaming the burglar for ransacking one's home when the problem was leaving the front door open ajar in the first place? At least that seems the valid criticism of capitalism - where standard issue Democratic reformism isn't capable of rectifying a system that is constitutionally undemocratic. So, I suppose this just exemplifies my frustration with what we have to contend with as the left-most end of the spectrum. And, yes, I am finally slogging through Albert and Hahnel. Plus, I concede am frustrated with him for Frank's intransigence on other matters and his uncompromising allegiance to The Party over principles.
