Vietnam condemns targeted attacks on UN peacekeepers and demands the concerned parties execute measures to ensure safety for them, a Vietnamese representative to the United Nations Security Council said.
"The United Nations' humanitarian workers and peacekeepers must have their safety ensured while performing their duties," said Ambassador Le Luong Minh in response to the UN reports on the attacks on a convoy of UN/African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) in Sudan on January 7 and UN peacekeeping soldiers in Lebanon on January 8. http://www.nhandan.com.vn/english/news/110108/domestic_viet2.htm
