You are probably correct and I should not have used that example.  I am 
no expert in this area.  Not even a serious amateur.  
I  was simply attempting to show that the tribe called Judah and a 
traditional name for the "God of Israel" had the same or similar 
spelling in (ancient?) Hebrew.  Obviously a lot would depend on how the 
word or words were pronounced.

That is certainly my understanding but I'm not sure what that has to do 
with my subject?  I  was simply attempting to show that the tribe called
