And, the same thing was said about books in the West after the printing press was invented, and as well as alphabetical writing throughout the Near and Far East as it spread (Phonenician, Sanskrit, Aramaic, etc.).
Think how smart we'd all be if not for that stupid system of alphabetical writing causing people not have to remember so much!
