[With apologies to Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer]

My copy of our own Dennis Perrin's Savage Mules arrived in the mail yesterday --

<http://www.amazon.com/Savage-Mules-Democrats-Endless-War/dp/1844672654/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1214331704&sr=8-1>

I immediately put down what I was doing -- which involved Thorium, a consultation with the mad Doktor Barige, a hacked PSP and Jaytech on the MP3 player -- to dig into the slim but information-packed book.

Much (hell, probably all) of the material covered will be familiar to regular LBO posters. But unlike other books about Earth's cowboy nation Savage Mules focuses entirely on the pleasant -- but counter-factual -- idea that the Dems are the party of peace abroad and progressive policies at home.

Dennis wastes no time kicking this fantasy to the curb.

And I think that's what I like most about this book so far: it moves with an irresistible urgency, sparing not one moment for bullshit. It's almost as if Dennis wrote the book aboard a plane on fire, careening towards the ground at full speed.
