At issue here was not whatever illumination one or another myth may lend to the world but an empirical claim by Doug in response first to Chris and then to me. Myth can't offer any evidence on that. Apparently some generals would see The Revelation of St. John as evidence for a foreign policy, but I don't think we would be rejecting myth _as myth_ if we rejected that as evidence for bombing Iran.
