I'm not calling Doug sexist, but the comments here that emphasize "paternalistic" sexism over direct sexism are a bad approach. Such is pretty much logically the same as those who comment that affirmative action as the main sexism or racism of today. The main form of sexism is not paternalistic sexism. When you find yourself claiming that someone who is charging sexism or racism is actually the one making the sexist or racist comment, you should stop and think a long time before you speak.
It is exactly more criticism of sexism from men and criticism of racism from whites that we need, even if not quite accurate in some instances.
