He should have lived forever. I guess in a sense he will.

One time I was listening to an interview on NPR, turned it on in medias res, subjects unidentified, an earnest young NPR type interview-er interviewing an older man. The older guy was absolutely mesmerizing, you couldn't get enough of him, just talking about Chicago this n that. Of course it turned out to to be Studs -- the interviewee. Now that's a scary assignment for an interview-er -- go out and interview Studs Terkel!
