The Palin candidacy has two benefits that I can see:
Liberal blogs have become unreadable "Page 6" type self-parodies.
Liberals themselves have put the lie to the "liberal as leftist" meme.
I say God bless Sarah Palin and the Al-Aska Martyrs Bridage, or whatever they're called.
