and then there's my discussion of Lawrence Graham's _Our Kind of People_ on this list, which made it pretty clear that there's an upper echelon of black folk in this country that spend a lot of their time trying to be the right kind of black. Where Jesse Jackson isn't quite right, but Colin Powell and Obama are.
