It’s a horrendous bug, no doubt, for a software in its 5th generation, but keep in mind that software is really, really tough, and that any other platform is going to bring equal or more pain. For the record, most of the software is written in the USA (Apple was one of the first big names to pull out of India, IIRC), and the computers (i.e., hardware) are designed in the USA.
If you want to enable a remote login for me, I can poke further under the hood into your problem, but I wouldn't generally advice you to open up your OS to people you know only through mailing lists ;-).
