And thanks for mentioning that this is "old school" CIA.  Mainstream
discourse implicitly assumes that torture is a recent problem of the
Bush admin.  But it isn't necessarily is it?  We all know that the
U.S. and CIA has had close relations with repressive regimes that
torture, and train the torturers such as at the School of the
Americas.  So even if an American agent is directly involved, the U.S.
has long been complicit in such behaviour.
