Joanna mentions minuet as an example of her point that "music" begins with dance, and essentially degrades as it moves away from that originary center (especially to "reflection"). I'm sorry if I misunderstood, but this seems to be the gist of her post, and not what you're talking about, which is understanding dance as one aspect or "genus" (as you say) of music.
